About Ms. Megan Robertson
Hello! This is your resident math snob (I'm not really a snob, but it rhymes with Rob) Megan Robertson. I am a middle school mathematics student teacher at Hosford Middle School and graduate teaching assistant at Portland State University in Portland, OR. This website is a new and exciting way for me to keep in touch and better serve all of my students.
So about me...I graduated from Portland State University in 2011 with my B.S. in mathematics. In fall 2011, I was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship with the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics + Statistics. This allowed me to teach one class per quarter while working toward my MS in mathematics for teachers and complete my masters curriculum project focusing on graph theory for the liberal arts student.
During my time in the math department, I also earned my MEd from the PSU Graduate School of Education with an emphasis on middle grades mathematics. My student teaching was completed at Hosford Middle School in Portland, OR under the supervision of Marla Baber.
Post grad school led me to fulfilling my dream of living on the coast, particularly the southern coast of Oregon (I've been fishing and camping down here for years). I am now the lucky lady who teaches seventh grade mathematics and pre-algebra at North Bend Middle School in North Bend, OR. It's a fabulous school with amazing students.
My biggest math passions are anything that falls under the umbrella of discrete mathematics, especially graph theory. I also enjoy working with students who are learning or relearning basic algebra.
Thanks for checking out my site.
